Purple swirl was an opaque slag produced by Mosser Glass in 2002, consisting of dark purple glass with white mixed in. Since this was all done by hand, the resulting collies are very variable in color – dark purple with just a small patch of white, multiple shades of purple, a balance of purple and white, and even a lighter purple slag are all familiar variations of this color.
Purple swirl was also made with a frosted “satin” finish. Satins have the same range of colors as the shiny ones but are a little harder to find today.
